2025 Rotary Summer Concert Q&A

Q: WHEN & WHERE IS THE ROTARY SUMMER CONCERT THIS YEAR?
A: Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Bay City Civic Center.

Q: WHO IS PERFORMING?
A: Popular classic country band EXILE (11 No. 1 hit singles!) headlines with special guest, the award-winning Houston roots musician The Mighty Orq.

Q: WHERE CAN I GET TICKETS?
A: Tickets are available at www.baycityrotary.org; and will be available at the door the night of show.

Q: WHAT REFRESHMENTS CAN I BUY AT THE SHOW?
A: As always, this is a BYOB show! There will be a small concession stand where concert-goers can buy ice, soft drinks and some food items.

Exile's fourth #1 single, "Crazy For Your Love" reached #1 in early 1985 (Epic 04722). Such a great sounding group with GREAT music!

More about EXILE.

Exile not only racked up No. 1 hit after hit for over a decade, they also wrote several songs other artists recorded and took to No. 1

Exile's J.P. Pennington and Mark Gray wrote "The Closer You Get for the band's 1981 record "Heart & Soul." Exile did not release the song as a single, but other artists recognized the song's greatness. Don King took the song to No. 27 later in the year, and Rita Coolidge recorded the song that year as well.

In 1983, Alabama picked up the song and released it as a single - the song reached No. 1 on the Billboard country chart.

Exile sometimes plays "The Closer You Get" in their shows.
