SMARS is the latest in a line of Amateur Radio clubs that have served the Calhoun County, Michigan community for more than 60 years. SMARS in its present form includes more than 50 local amateurs who are devoted to the promotion of amateur radio activities in the local community. SMARS has ongoing programs to increase the knowledge of its members, to educate the public, to train the next generatio

n of amateurs, and to assist in community events. Our club meetings are held the third Thursday of each month at Maple United Methodist Church, 342 Capital Ave NE, Battle Creek from 7:00-8:30pm (end time varies depending on whether we have a special presentation at the meeting). Club meetings are open to the general public, including those who wish to learn more about amateur radio, newly licensed amateur radio operators who are seeking mentors, and those who are experienced amateur radio operators who enjoy the camaraderie of others in the hobby.
