Rock County Public Library

Did you know Rock County is apart of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library through generous funding from the Bassett Rock County Chamber of Commerce?!

Anyone from birth to age of 5 can sign up and get FREE books delivered to your door monthly! You can enroll online or stop in the library to get a form!

While this is a program FREE to the families, there is still a cost. This Friday, 9/25 is Give Like Dolly Day! If you’d like to donate to our local imagination library please watch the end of this video to see how that’s done or stop by the library! (You can give to this program anytime throughout the year).

“You can never get enough books into the hands of enough young children.” Dolly Parton

It may be a long way from Tennessee to the Sandhills of Nebraska, but Dolly Parton’s impact on children and families reaches all the way to Bassett and Ainsworth.

We promise those four hours will fly by as you learn the basics, practice your skills and have some fun along the way!

You MUST call the library to RSVP and reserve your spot. We will NOT be taking names in the comments of this post.

Payment is due by September 15th to secure your spot.

We can’t wait to see you there and get those Mahjong tiles clicking! 🀄

We had a special visitor yesterday from the Audubon of Kansas, Jackie! She taught us how dinosaurs still exist, had us crawling around and flyer paper airplanes! Thanks for the fun program!

We are SO excited to finally have our new automatic doors installed at the library!

No more struggling to maneuver strollers through heavy doors.
No more worrying about little fingers getting pinched.

And best of all, we now have another way to make our library more accessible and welcoming for everyone in our community!!

We hope you stop by and enjoy this new improvement!

Have you heard of MAH JONGG?! Have you ever been interested in learning how to play?! Would you come to a class if the library hosted one?!

We recently went to a training to learn the basics of this game that is becoming very popular! It’s a great way to get out of the house, use your brain and connect with others!

The library is looking at hosting a training sometime in September and wanted to see if there was any interest!

Please join us for one more final dinosaur program before school starts! The Audubon of Kansas will be at the library Tuesday, August 11th at 2pm for Dinosaurs Still Exist!

All ages are welcome, please call the library or comment on here if your kiddo plans to attend!

We took our internship field trip yesterday and got to visit the Genoa City Library, the Columbus Public Library and the Madison Public Library! It’s a great chance for us to connect with other libraries and see what great things they are up to!

We have had a fun summer with Shelby as our intern and will miss her this fall!
