Nugget told us this was his last day at City Hall. :( He is returning home to the Basehor Community Library for the weekend. 👋🏻

The City received an updated and approved schedule from the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) for the improvements at 158th and Parallel. The roadway is expected to be fully open by July 31. You may continue to see crews in the area beyond that timeframe working on landscaping and general cleanup of the area. We know the community is ready for this project to be complete - and we are, too! Thank you for your continued patience.

We’d like to thank the Mayor, City Council, and community for the very positive discussion last night related to the use of recreational vehicles within City limits. An ordinance with the proposed changes will be prepared and presented to the City Council on June 24 at 6:00 pm at Basehor City Hall for their consideration. The existing laws in place will apply until any such ordinance is passed by the Governing Body.

We have changed the registration requirements for our first mini-golf event, Golf-ish! Registering for this event is now FREE if you are a Basehor resident and $15 for non-residents.

Out of an abundance of caution with the forecasted rain and winds for this weekend, we are sadly going to postpone the Field of Dreams Cinema Sunday event from this Sunday, June 14 to Sunday, July 19. We are hoping for better weather conditions in the month of July.

Thank you to everyone who attended the First Annual Whales and Scales Fishing Tournament at the Basehor Civic Campus Fishing Pond! We’ll publish more photos next week, including a shout out for the winners. But we just wanted to say thank you to the community for a wonderful event.

Special thank you to the Basehor-Linwood Kiwanis Club for helping us hand out bait, and for being great community partners!

A fishing tournament has been a dream of Mayor Drennon’s for many years, and it was a perfect day to have our first one!
