One of the things I love most about our community is the way we take care of our own.

When I founded Hometown Charities, that was the heart behind it: helping our neighbors through some of the most difficult times in their lives and reminding them that their community is here for them.

Last year, we were able to step in when a local family lost their home to a fire. We’ve also helped support complicated medical procedures when funding was a huge obstacle. Those are just two examples of what your support makes possible.

Pioneer Days is the only fundraiser Hometown Charities holds all year, and the money raised allows us to continue helping people right here in our community.

If you’re looking for something fun to do with the family while supporting a great cause, come see us at the Pioneer Days Festival September 4–7 at Sam Smith Park in Cartersville.

Bring the family, enjoy the festival, and help us continue doing what this organization was created to do: neighbors taking care of neighbors.

Our family got a little sweeter with the addition of our newest granddaughter, Ellie.

She’s a whole one month old and already has Papa wrapped around her tiny little finger.

There are a lot of titles I’m proud to carry, but “Papa” will always be one of my favorites.

I appreciate Eddie Lee Wilkins Youth Camp for inviting our Special Operations Team out to spend the day with these incredible campers. Watching the kids explore the tactical vehicle, check out the drones, and ask great questions made for a fun afternoon.

As we watched the fireworks light up the sky, I was reminded that the greatest blessing in my life is sitting right beside me.

My wife is so much more than the love of my life. She’s my best friend, my voice of reason, my biggest supporter, and the one who keeps me grounded through every season. Life is simply better because I get to share it with her.

I’m grateful for every moment, every memory, and every day we get to walk this journey together. I love you more than you’ll ever know. ❤️🎆

I was pleased to join our partners from TOYO TIRES and Georgia Power this week at the Georgia Association of Manufacturers (GAM) Conference to discuss diversifying the talent pipeline and the work being done through the Workforce Reentry & Advancement Program (WRAP) in Bartow County.

It was a great opportunity to share how partnerships between public safety, workforce development, and industry are helping address workforce needs while creating opportunities for individuals who are working to rebuild their lives.

Thank you to the Georgia Association of Manufacturers for the opportunity to share our experience and to our partners who continue to invest in this important work.
