What an incredible day for Barrington!
This past Tuesday, we officially celebrated the ribbon cutting of the new Barrington Community Center, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our community.
The event brought together residents, supporters, partners, advocates, and project team members who helped turn a vision into a reality. Following remarks from Parks & Recreation Director Jessie Tennis and Selectboard Chair Alex Simocko, attendees were welcomed into the building to tour the new space and learn more about the opportunities it will create for residents of all ages.
During their remarks, Jessie and Alex reflected on the journey from dreaming up ideas for this space to seeing them come to life. Projects of this scale don’t happen overnight. They require consistent planning, communication, collaboration, and commitment from countless people along the way. We are proud to say that together, we put in that hard work, and we are thrilled to share the results with the community.
A special thank you goes out to CDFA, the Barrington Selectboard, Recreation Commission, town staff, community advocates, Careno Construction, project partners, and everyone who contributed their time, expertise, support, and belief in this project. Your partnership helped transform a vision into a space that will serve Barrington for generations to come.
We would also like to recognize the Parks & Recreation team, whose dedication, creativity, and compassion continue to make Barrington a better place to live, learn, play, and connect.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone. We can’t wait to see the memories, programs, connections, and opportunities that will be created within these walls for years to come.
Here’s to— NOTHIN’ BUT GOOD TIMES!
