🇺🇸 National Day of the Deployed Message

Today, we honor the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who are deployed around the world—standing watch, far from home, to protect our nation and defend freedom.

Their courage, sacrifice, and commitment remind us that freedom is never free. While they serve in distant lands, their families carry the burden of separation with strength and resilience that deserves our deepest gratitude.

Let us take a moment to pray for their safety, thank their loved ones, and remember that every deployment represents a promise—to serve, to protect, and to uphold the values we hold dear as Americans.

To all who are deployed, and to those who have ever served far from home: we honor you, we thank you, and we stand with you. 🇺🇸

Due to the federal government shutdown, November SNAP benefits for all recipients are at risk of not being sent. If the shutdown extends beyond October 31, SNAP benefits scheduled for November will not be sent, meaning that approximately one million Massachusetts residents will not receive the food benefits they need and were promised.

Clients facing immediate need can access resources through the Project Bread FoodSource Hotline at (800) 645-8333 and local food pantries. DTA offices remain open to provide other services.

State funded programs including HIP, TAFDC, and EAEDC will continue operating normally. EBT cards will continue to function in November with any carryover benefits, though no new funds will be added.

You can find more information on mass.gov/SNAPupdates.
