🌸🇮🇹 Buona Pasqua from Abruzzo! 🇮🇹🌸
Today, we celebrate Easter with the heart and soul of Abruzzo, where tradition, faith, and family come together in the most beautiful ways.
In the hilltop towns and seaside villages of Abruzzo, Easter is more than a day, it’s a feeling. From the solemn and powerful processions of Good Friday to the joyful ringing of church bells on Easter Sunday, every moment is filled with meaning. Tables are set with traditional favorites like agnello (lamb), homemade breads, and sweet treats like fiadone and colomba, shared among family and friends with laughter and love.
One of the most breathtaking traditions is the “Madonna che Scappa” celebration, where the Virgin Mary runs to meet the risen Christ, a symbol of hope, renewal, and the triumph of life over sorrow.
As we gather here at the Filippo Corsi Italian Benevolent Society, we honor these rich traditions and the heritage that connects us all. May this Easter bring peace, joy, and new beginnings to you and your families.
Buona Pasqua a tutti! 🕊️💛
