Earlier today, crews responded to a structure fire at a hotel in the Morton Ave area. Upon arrival, firefighters located the fire in the first-floor laundry area. The fire was quickly contained to the dryer of origin, and crews were on scene for approximately 60 minutes.

The building’s sprinkler system activated and performed exactly as designed, helping contain the fire and preventing further extension throughout the structure.

Nelson County Fire & Rescue assisted on scene with ventilation operations and clearing smoke from the upper floors.

We appreciate the quick actions of all responding personnel, Nelson County Dispatch and the cooperation of hotel staff and guests during the incident.
