We'd like to reach out and say a huge thank you to the community for a great turn out at yesterdays Blood Drive! We had 37 donations in total. The Blood Center Employees that worked were busy all night. They were all extremely impressed with the wonderful attendance from the community.

As for the competition side of things, EMS got the victory with 23 of the donation points. We are already excited and planning for next years drive and competition.

Today is the day! Blood drive day! Those who can, please donate.

Please consider coming to donate blood next Wednesday at the Baraga Township Office. There is a critical shortage of blood available for hospitals in the Upper Peninsula All blood that is donated in the UP stays in the UP, and is supplied to local hospitals. Your donation could help save a life!

Boots, Badges & Bandages blood drive. Open to all in the community. Donate and give credit to either EMS, Fire or Police for your donation. Please call the UP Regional Blood Center @ 906-449-1450 to schedule an appointment. Walk ins welcome also!

The winning emergency service will receive the traveling trophy!

Emergency Medical Technician Course

UPHS-Marquette School of EMT intends on conducting an Emergency Medical Technician course beginning September 9, 2025, concluding April 28, 2026. If there is enough interest, Bay Ambulance in Baraga would be a host sight for the practical portion of the course. Course cost is $1300.00 plus textbook, drug screen and a physical. Unsure of financial aid at this time.

EMT's are needed locally (Baraga - L'Anse) but are DESPARATELY needed in Covington, Pelkie, and Skanee.
