Due to sudden staff illnesses and staff shortages as a result, ASES will be closing early today. Please arrange for your students to be picked up between 2:30 and 3:00 today. The bus will still run as normal at 2:45, so those students usually taking the bus at that time will not be affected.

At about 10:42 this morning, a small brush fire about a mile behind the school started. Winds were blowing away from the school and local fire fighters and planes were on the scene very quickly. The fire grew to roughly 2 acres, but after several plane loads of fire retardant were dropped, and with the work of the fighters on scene, the fire was contained and then successfully extinguished at around 11:25.
At this time, there is no cause for concern.
I can assure everyone that Bangor has emergency plans in place should such an event threaten the school. All staff were alerted to the situation as administration monitored progress. All students and staff remain safe.

Parents, THANK YOU for a successful first almost 2 weeks of school! please remember to join us for our Back to School Night, 4:30-6:00, check with your teachers for your specific teacher times on Thursday (tomorrow) 8/20.
Please remember that this is meant for parents only, students are welcome to join the ASES after school program during this time.
Please join us to visit with teachers and see what each teacher has planned for your students!

School out today at 1 pm. There is no ASES. Bus leaves with riders at 1:05. Tomorrow is the last day of school! Summer Camp starts June 9.
