Today, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office and the Saratoga County Deputy Sheriff's PBA bid a happy retirement to Sergeant Kevin Lancto after 20 years of dedicated service to the residents of Saratoga County. Sergeant Lancto served as the Team Commander of the Saratoga County Special Operations Team and is the true definition of a leader.

Prior to serving the residents of Saratoga County, Sergeant Lancto proudly served in the United States Army. We thank him for his service, leadership, and commitment to both his country and community, and wish him nothing but the best in retirement.

This week is National Police Week, established in 1962 as a time to honor and remember police officers who have died in the line of duty. In 2025, 111 police officers made the ultimate sacrifice, and that sacrifice will never be forgotten. Our membership is grateful for the support we receive from the citizens of Saratoga County. Our job is not easy, but having the support of the people we serve means a great deal. We would like to thank Saratoga County Sheriff Jeffrey R. Brown for his acknowledgment this week and the gift baskets his family delivered.

This week, during National Police Week, we honor the brave men and women who put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities, and we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Law enforcement officers stand between good and evil, serving with courage, dedication, and selflessness. Please take a moment this week to remember our fallen heroes and thank the officers who continue to serve and protect Saratoga County. 🇺🇸💙
