We have ANOTHER outstanding announcement this Friday afternoon! One of our eagle-eyed followers posted a comment the other day asking about Emily. Emily was another child missing from nearby.

While no public updates were available at that time, we reached out to the department in charge of her case to find out if she was still missing; thankfully we learned she has been reunited with her family!

It truly takes a community to bring hope, help, and eventually closure to so many cases of missing children and adults! One or more of you may have been the piece of the puzzle to bring Emily and Alma home to their loved ones.

MANY of you are offering fresh tips, pro bono expertise, and overflowing hope and compassion to our own case… while we can’t speak for anyone else, Bakersfield has SHOWN UP in demanding . We are tremendously grateful for all of you. 🙏🥹

Once again, the amazing Bakersfield community has stepped up and shared the desperate pleas of a family in agony. You all helped put an end to that worrying and wondering about where a piece of this family’s heart was with your determination to help locate her!

Shocking third party confirmation of death threats adds to growing cloud of uncertainty over whether Fabian Barbosa has more reason to be relieved his wife is missing than not? What do you all think?

Shown in the first photo below, an individual besides Ana Lorena and her family members can corroborate threats against Ana Lorena Barbosa’s life, AND give a specific reason for that threat - money.

This isn’t hearsay, and we have gotten in direct contact with this individual to ensure they have spoken with the lead detective.

Over the last several days, we have shared passages from Ana Lorena’s diary with you. We will continue to do so in the coming days and weeks as well.

When violent crimes occur between people who are known to each other, they are usually due to one of four reasons;

1. Retaliation (we don’t believe this applies directly),
2. Drugs (we don’t believe this applies),
3. S*x - as you read in the diary: Fabian was apparently straying from the marriage. If that was true, it could be possible that he was trying to move on, though we can’t independently confirm.
4. Money - As you see below:
a. Fabian did not want Lorena to divorce him or take ANY money.
b. Ana Lorena also told her older daughter that Fabian took out a life insurance policy on her less than a year before she vanished.
c. Ana Lorena did not say they took a life insurance policy out on Fabian even though he was the breadwinner, and Lorena only worked part-time,
d. In C.A., a missing person can be declared legally dead after five years. At that point, Fabian would be able to try to collect on the life insurance policy.
e. As we have said before, Ana Lorena told family members (and family members overheard) Fabian Barbosa making threats to “make you (Ana Lorena) disappear where nobody would ever find her just like he had done to someone else.”

We know that as loved ones of Ana Lorena we’re biased and don’t have all of the evidence or information available in this investigation.

What we do have is free support from experts behind the scenes, and they’re telling us things aren’t looking good from an investigative standpoint.

We also know that based on evidence and research from the domestic violence field, Ana Lorena was at risk for increased violence given the circumstances she was already in.

Strangulation, plans to leave, death threats, guns in the home… However, like many victims of domestic violence, we are certain Ana Lorena didn’t realize danger was everywhere.

Part 3. Ana Lorena’s Diary
“....and what he told me.. I could only stand there cold. He said ‘’I called her to apologize.”

I couldn’t believe it! ... from that moment on.. I could not see him the same way again. I thought to myself - 'who am I to this man?'.

After that the subject was not brought up again, ..no ‘I lied’ from him, nothing.

I did not know he liked to be in chatrooms with other people.... always working...but makes time for things like that?... The worst was yet to come.

We slept in separate rooms, completely disconnected from one another, and with time......no phone calls, no messages,

…many times I thought about looking for him,
…asking why?
…but it was too late.”

We will continue to chronologically translate parts of Ana Lorena’s Diary in the coming days.

These intimate writings are labeled 2022 and are painful to digest and share, so please continue to be patient and kind as we distribute them so publicly.

Just two years before Ana Lorena vanished, without any of her key documents OR the money she had steadily been saving, both of which are at her older daughter’s home, she also began to admit to some of her family and friends that things in her marriage were getting increasingly scary.

She told them about the threats Fabian, (pictured here), would routinely make “to make her disappear, and that he had done it to someone before and he could do it to her too.”

According to a tip we received, he made that same threat to others, especially if Ana Lorena ever planned to leave him. We have explained over the last few days how leaving is the most dangerous time for women in an abusive relationship, and that it takes an abuse victim an average of seven times to flee. Ana Lorena had left once, and was planning to leave again.

“I called her .....but I hung up... I felt humiliated, and with so much pain in my heart.

The next morning, obviously he noticed I took a look at his phone …

I left it open to the chat. I did it so he could see what I did that night.... but what happened that morning I did not expect.

To this day, I remember it like yesterday ...there was no “good morning”......he said '' What did you do to my phone'' ? and I answered '' what you see'' is what I did'' .

He left the house without saying where he was going, half an hour later he comes back. .....and what he told me..

I could only stand there cold. He said '' I called her to apologize ''.’

As Ana Lorena fought to do what she could to save her marriage, she agreed to take out over $480,000 in loans with her husband, more than twice their home’s value, where Fabian remains, apparently alone.

These loans were both taken out in May 2022, just two years before Ana Lorena would vanish.

Part 1. Ana Lorena’s Diary
“YEAR 2022, Everything started to change for my family, what I mean by family is ..my family at home; even though we were together through Covid.

I always thought my marriage was stable....little by little, we grew apart. He was irritated with work ..and I was frustrated with the house, the animals and our daughter’s school.

We hardly ever had intimacy.. because he was tired, and if I asked he would become angry. He would tell me that that is 'all I think about''.

Back when we just moved into this house, ..I took a look at his phone as he slept ..and I saw on messenger that he was talking to someone else. This was the first time I caught him.

I called her .....but I hung up... I felt humiliated, and with so much pain in my heart. The next morning, obviously he noticed I took a look at his phone.”

Over the coming days we will painfully translate the diary of Ana Lorena Barbosa, written by the missing woman in the days and months leading up to her going missing. This is something we feel is important to do for you all for several reasons.

Not only will it bring Ana Lorena to life for you, but it will also shine a light on marital issues not previously reported anywhere, *including here*, that she experienced in the days leading up to her “disappearance”.

Ana Lorena’s older daughter, and other family members, are certain Ana Lorena had no idea how much danger she was in for a deadly DV outcome.

Her daughter wants other victims of abuse to learn about these risks so they can get away safely. ❤️❤️ We’ll be offering some tips and resources for victims of abuse based on what is happening in the diary.

Please no negative feedback towards Ana Lorena in the comments. It is always easy to judge a situation after it has occurred. We will begin translating and posting the the diary in chronological order tomorrow.
