The new Tejon Public Safety Center has officially opened and now serves as the home of both the Kern County Sheriff's Office and Kern County Fire Department. These state-of-the-art facilities will significantly enhance public safety services throughout the southern region of Kern County, improving emergency response capabilities and community support. The beautiful new center was made possible through the partnership and generosity of Hard Rock Casino Tejon, which provided and funded the facilities. This investment represents a major step forward in strengthening public safety infrastructure for the growing communities of southern Kern County.

My office was contacted by the Frazier Park Veterans of Foreign Wars regarding several dead trees near the memorial site and asked if we could assist ahead of this important day of remembrance. D-2 quickly stepped in, removing the dead trees and clearing nearby brush to help improve and beautify the area.
A special thank you to John, the park manager, for coordinating debris disposal and scheduling follow-up lawn crew cleanup before Memorial Day.
We appreciate everyone working together to honor our veterans and ensure this memorial continues to look its best for the community.

As we recognize Police Memorial Week, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting our communities with unwavering dedication, courage, and service.
Those who have died in the line of duty leave behind an immeasurable void in the hearts of their families, friends, fellow officers, and the communities they faithfully served. Their commitment to protecting others, often at great personal risk, will never be forgotten.
We extend our deepest gratitude and respect to these fallen heroes and to the loved ones who continue to carry their memory forward. Their legacy of service, sacrifice, and bravery remains an enduring example to us all.

It was with great humility that I had the honor of presenting the Kern County Board proclamation for National Police Week and Peace Officers Memorial Day.
The observance begins tomorrow with local services at the Bakersfield Police Department, followed by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office on Norris Road, and concludes with a countywide recognition ceremony at the Law Enforcement Memorial on Truxtun Ave.
Together, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our community. Their courage, dedication, and commitment to protecting others will never be forgotten. I was honored to attend the Bakersfield Firefighters Burn Foundation’s Light Up the Night event. A meaningful evening dedicated to compassion, healing, and community. The event honored the strength of burn survivors and recognized the firefighters, medical professionals, and supporters who stand beside them every step of recovery. It was an inspiring night of gratitude, resilience, and unity.
