Homelessness shouldn’t be a crime in Kern County.

But right now, the Board of Supervisors is considering a f**ked-up “anti-camping” ordinance that would make it illegal for our unhoused neighbors to exist in public.

Before the public hearing on November 9th, we need to let our supervisors know that we won’t allow them to criminalize our neighbors simply for surviving.

Will you add your name to immediately send a letter to the Kern County Board of Supervisors letting them know you oppose this anti-homeless ordinance?

Everyone in Kern County deserves a place to call home. But right now, our county has far too few shelters, transitional housing, and affordable homes to serve everyone who lives here.

We see how corporate and law enforcement-bought Senators Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema are stopping climate action at the federal level. We don’t tolerate that here in California. We are going to lead the way.

Today, Sunrise Kern and In the Field organizers (feat. Amar Singh Shergill) went to the home of the Kern County Democratic Party Chair, Christian Romo to demand that they vote to ban fossil fuel and cop money from the California Democratic Party at the Executive Board meeting on October 24th.

BREAKING: California Sunrise Hubs call on California Democratic Party and Rusty Hicks to reject fossil fuel and cop contributions in anticipation of the October Executive Board Meeting.

We are tired of our elected leaders ignoring us as the climate crisis destroys our planet and cops tear apart our communities. We don’t need more money for oil drilling and more police. What we need is education, public housing, public transit, healthcare, climate action, and community services. We need you to remove fossil fuel executives and police from our politics.

Which side are you on: the working people of California or the fossil fuel companies and law enforcement destroying our communities?

🚨 BREAKING 🚨 The LA County Board of Supervisors just voted unanimously to begin a full gas & oil phase out.

We just set precedence for the rest of the country 😳 580K Angelenos who currently live less than 1/4 mile to an active oil well’s quality of life is about to skyrocket.
