Documentary Viewing and Presentation on Armed Forces Day!

For those in the Hawthorne, NV area, the Babbitt documentary will be featured in Armed Forces Day celebrations on Saturday, May 16, 2026. While details are still being worked out, the preliminary plan is to have a brief presentation by the makers of the documentary, followed by a viewing of the program and a Q&A session. Check back here for details as we get nearer to the date. Location is planned to be the YCAC center, which old-timers will know as the "Old Gym", at 600 C Street.

The Babbitt documentary seems to have inspired art & fiction! The following idea from Catherine Bradway ( on Instagram) is extracted from a longer conversation:

"I really had a feeling that the big checkered boy might meet an untimely end, I rewatched it again and I don’t think it’s in the preview, but I saw it coming, he’s so majestic, they wouldn’t have left him behind intact? I’d love for him to live on in 'Super Water, a Babbitt story'

Maybe Rocket ship gets to be a home base character, like Alfred from Batman. I guess the liability of a giant water tower falling on its own would’ve been bad.

The lore in my head is, freed him from his concrete constraints and military service, now he walks the land, water towering wherever needed. Babbitt Super Water Tower is not done!"

Based on Catherine's idea, I'm ready to pitch this series idea to TV executives:

Babbitt Super Water Tower and his sidekick Skippy the Water Boy, ably assisted by Rocket Ship, stop at a new town every episode helping those in need and giving the bad guys a serious hosing down!
