As I wrap up my time in Washington, D.C., I want to thank the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, Lake to River, and JobsOhio for putting together an outstanding Fly-In event.

These organizations continue to be strong advocates for the Mahoning Valley, working every day to bring investment, jobs, and opportunities to our region. It was truly a pleasure working alongside individuals who are passionate about moving the Valley forward.

I’m also pleased to share that Austintown’s fire department expansion request was accepted and advanced through subcommittee. The next step is a vote on the floor, and once a project reaches this point, the likelihood of funding is extremely strong. While nothing is official until the final vote, we are very encouraged by the progress.

A special thank you to Congressman, Rep. Mike Rulli for advocating for this vital project and recognizing the importance of ensuring our firefighters have the facilities and resources they need to continue serving our community. As well as the Mahoning County Commissioners, Ohio and Representative Lauren McNally for Ohio, for their support on this project.

Thank you again to everyone who continues to fight for the Mahoning Valley and our local communities. Working together, we can continue moving our region forward.

Day two in Washington, D.C. was extremely informative and productive. Alongside leaders from across the Mahoning Valley, we continued advocating for the needs of our region while highlighting important priorities for Austintown Township, including our CDS requests and other initiatives that will benefit our residents.

I had a productive meeting with the staff of Senator Bernie Moreno to discuss issues important to our community. We also stopped by the office of Senator Jon Husted, and despite an extremely busy schedule, their team made time for a discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing our region.

Proud to have the opportunity to advocate for not only the residents of Austintown, but the entire County. The challenges we face and the opportunities before us extend beyond municipal boundaries, and it is important that we continue working together to ensure our communities have a strong voice at every level of government.

First night in Washington, D.C. is in the books. Tomorrow the Chamber Fly-In officially kicks off, but we are already getting to work. I made the trip alongside Struthers Mayor Catherine Cercone Miller, Safety Services Director Anthony Lariccia, and I was able to secure a meeting with Senator Moreno's office to discuss opportunities that can benefit not only Austintown and Struthers, but the entire Mahoning Valley.

We also took some time to visit a few of our nation's incredible monuments and pay our respects at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. It was an honor to once again see my uncle's name, Edward Cormier, among those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

God bless you, Uncle Edward. You are never forgotten.🇺🇸

Looking forward to productive conversations over the next few days as we continue advocating for our communities and our region.💪🇺🇸

Halfway to Washington, D.C. with fellow leaders from across the Mahoning Valley for the Regional Chamber Fly-In.

One of the priorities I'll be advocating for is funding assistance for Austintown Township's Emergency Medical Vehicle Garage and Maintenance Facility, a project that will help protect our EMS fleet, improve readiness, and better serve our residents.
I'll also be discussing other issues that impact communities throughout our region. No matter where the conversation takes place, I'll continue doing what I've always done—fighting for the residents we serve and working to bring opportunities back home.

Great night, but an even better cause. Thank you to everyone who came out to support this event and help make it a success. It was great seeing so many people come together, support local boxing, and enjoy a fantastic evening right here in Mahoning County. Special thanks to Jamie Ciccone - State Farm Agent for the invitation and the great company throughout the night.🥊💜🇺🇸

Grateful for great community partners like the Salvation Army. Today they delivered several hundred pounds of meat, bread, and cheese to help support seniors in need.

While our Senior Center is located in Austintown, our services are available to seniors throughout the region. Thank you to everyone who helps ensure our seniors have access to the essentials they need.

I’ve said it once and I’ll keep saying it over and over again, we will always advocate for our residents and pursue every funding opportunity possible that helps make Austintown even greater.

Currently, we are actively working on several funding opportunities that could help improve different areas of our township. A lot of people only see the finished project, but what they don’t see are the hours of research, planning, meetings, paperwork, coordination, and fighting that happens behind the scenes before a single dollar is ever awarded.

One thing you can count on from me is this, I will never stop pushing for Austintown. If that means making calls, sending emails, attending meetings, or camping outside the office of the people holding the checkbooks down in Columbus or Washington D.C., then so be it. 😂

At the end of the day, this is about bringing resources back home, improving our community, protecting our history, and making sure Austintown continues moving forward for future generations.

We will keep grinding every single day.

Memorial Weekend always hits different for me. For many it’s a long weekend, cookouts, and time with family. For me, it’s personal.

This weekend I’m thinking of my Marine brothers who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Men I laughed with, served beside, and called family. The Corps teaches you real quick that the men and women standing beside you become more than friends — they become brothers and sisters.

As life moves on, years pass, and things change, one thing never will… You may be gone but you will NEVER be forgotten.

Enjoy the weekend, but take a moment and remember the reason we have it. Some gave all.

Semper Fi, brothers. Until we meet again. 🇺🇸🙏🎖️
