Twenty-five years ago, our nation changed forever.

Today, I attended the 9/11 remembrance ceremony at the Austintown 9/11 Memorial Park alongside Commissioner Anthony Traficanti, veterans, first responders, students and members of our community.

As a United States Marine, September 11 is more than another date on the calendar. It is a reminder of the innocent lives taken, the first responders who ran toward danger and the men and women who answered our nation’s call in the years that followed.

I was especially glad to see so many young people participating in today’s ceremony. We have a responsibility to teach future generations what happened that day and ensure the courage, sacrifice and unity of our nation are never forgotten.

God bless those we lost, their families, our first responders and the United States of America.

We will never forget.🇺🇸

Currently watching Timothy play in his golf match today. I’m always proud to see him out there competing and doing something he enjoys.

Although from where I was standing, he looked so tiny I could squish him between two fingers! 😂

What a great day at the Canfield Fair with my wife Kristan Jones Santos, our son Logan and his friend Jaxon!

Between the rides, fair food and plenty of laughs, the boys had a blast—and so did we. Logan also learned the hard way that you need to take a break between rides. A few too many back-to-back rides left him pretty dizzy! 😂

Life gets busy, so days like this are a good reminder to slow down, enjoy the moment and make memories with the people who matter most.

Another great Canfield Fair in the books!

Building a stronger Mahoning County takes teamwork, planning and a willingness to keep learning.

Earlier this week, I attended the County Commissioners Association of Ohio Summer Symposium in Hamilton County as part of the Mahoning County Commissioners’ team.

The sessions covered county budgeting, disaster preparedness, leadership, the addiction crisis, data-center development and the growing use of artificial intelligence in government. These are real issues affecting counties across Ohio, including Mahoning County.

In my role working on capital programs and economic development, my responsibility is to gather useful information, build relationships and help turn good ideas into real results for our county.

Mahoning County has strong communities, hardworking people and tremendous potential. I am proud to be part of a team that is working every day to move our county forward.

The work continues.

Had a great night at the Canfield Fair Demolition Derby with Kristan Jones Santos and the boys. Plenty of noise, smoke and wrecked cars—exactly what you expect from a demolition derby!

Logan came prepared with the hearing protection, which was probably the smartest decision any of us made all night.

Nothing beats getting away for a few hours and spending some time together as a family. Thank you to the drivers, first responders and everyone who helped put on another great event at the Canfield Fair.

This past Friday, I had the honor of serving as a Guardian on a Veterans Honor Flight.

I’m proud to have been a small part of making the day memorable for my brothers and sisters who served during the Korean War, Vietnam War, and Desert Storm.

As a fellow veteran, this one meant a little more. Different generations, different wars, but the same commitment to our country and to each other. Hearing their stories, sharing some laughs, and spending the day alongside them is something I won’t forget.

These men and women are true American heroes, and it was an absolute honor to be there with them.

Came down last night for the CCAO conference that kicked off today. Since I was in town, I reached out to a Marine buddy who lives down this way, and he invited me to join him at the 5th Annual Ci**rs, Bourbon & Badges event.

I was honored to attend and support a great event, but the best part was getting the opportunity to catch up with a fellow Marine and brother Steve Knapp (AKA “The Blue Power Ranger”)

Different careers, different paths, and a lot of years later—the brotherhood is still the brotherhood.
