The VFW Post 3377 in Manchaca will be having an open house on Saturday July 4, 2026. They will be serving hotdogs, hamburgers and sausage plus deserts from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM and it will be FREE to the public.
Beer will also be $1.00 off all day!

Tonight, many hearts across America are quietly holding space for those who serve. 🇺🇸

In seasons of uncertainty, bravery does not always shout. Sometimes it stands steady, unseen, in places far from home. Our service members carry responsibilities most of us will never fully understand — long nights, unfamiliar terrain, decisions made in seconds that hold lifelong consequences.

Across oceans and deserts, dedication and sacrifice walk side by side. They train, they prepare, they endure — not for recognition, but to protect the safety and peace we experience each day.

But service is never carried alone. Behind every uniform is a family counting the days. A spouse sleeping on one side of the bed. A child hugging a pillow a little tighter. Parents whispering prayers before they close their eyes.

Tonight, we pray for protection over every man and woman serving. 🙏
We pray for resilience in body and spirit.
We pray for calm minds and steady hearts in uncertain moments.

And we pray for the loved ones waiting at home — for patience, strength, and hope that does not fade.

May unity grow stronger in times like these.
May gratitude guide our conversations.
May every path lead to a safe and peaceful homecoming. 🕊️

Tonight, our nation pauses in grief.

As of 4 p.m. ET on March 2, U.S. Central Command confirmed that six American service members have been killed during ongoing operations. U.S. forces have also recovered the remains of two previously unaccounted-for service members from a facility struck during Iran’s initial attacks.

Major combat operations continue.

Behind every uniform is a family waiting for a call they pray never comes. Behind every flag-draped transfer case is a lifetime of courage, commitment, and quiet sacrifice. These six Americans stood their watch. They answered when called. And they gave everything in service to their country.

Their names will be released 24 hours after next of kin notification — a solemn reminder that before the nation learns their identities, their loved ones must first bear the weight of unimaginable loss.

We honor their bravery.
We honor their sacrifice.
We stand with their families.

May they rest in peace and may we never forget the cost of the freedoms we hold dear. 🙏 🇺🇸
