This is such a very real concern for so many people. The solution is that we need stronger communities - stronger has a different connotation for community - approachable, clearly defined categories, and easy to navigate.

We have systems but the systems fail people experiencing emergency often. They weren’t designed for it in a big way. That’s why we have so many edge cases. Let’s upgrade our community infrastructure so each person is supported

Easy ways to show someone you care:

Be supportive: Be there for someone when they're going through a difficult time, and celebrate their successes.

Show empathy: Actively listen, and be kind and considerate, even when others aren't.

Offer to help: Run errands, make a meal, or do something else to help when someone is struggling.

Show gratitude: Share a kind word, write a thank-you note, or donate to a cause that's important to them.

Do something special: Make a card, memory book, or photo album, or draw pictures together.

Do activities together: Go for a walk, play sports, or watch a movie together.

Send a virtual hug: A virtual hug can make someone smile, even if it's not in person.

Send a text: Send a flirty compliment or a genuine thank you for something nice your partner did.
