The Travis County Fire Marshal’s Office offers free educational resources and services for neighborhoods, organizations, and community groups.

We can come to you for:
• Fire safety and wildfire preparedness presentations
• Home hardening and Firewise workshops
• Community tabling events
• Structure Ignition Zone Evaluations (SIZE)

Whether you’re looking to host an educational event or want to better understand your home’s wildfire risk, we’re here as a resource.

Wildfire preparedness starts with your home.
When a wildfire threatens a community, embers can travel ahead of the main fire and find vulnerable areas around a home. Home hardening helps reduce those vulnerabilities by addressing the parts of your home most susceptible to ignition.
The Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) identifies several key areas to focus on:

🏠 Roofs
🔥 Vents
🪵 Decks
🧱 Siding
🌿 The 0–5 Foot Zone

Take a walk around your home and look at these five areas. Regular maintenance and small improvements can help reduce your home’s wildfire risk.

Want help identifying vulnerabilities around your property? The Travis County Fire Marshal’s Office offers FREE SIZE evaluations to help homeowners understand their wildfire risk and identify opportunities for home hardening.

Del Valle Day was a success at Circuit of The Americas! Thank you to Del Valle Community Coalition Non-Profit for the invitation and this awesome event.

We handed out Fire Safety & Emergency Preparedness info and resources along side Travis County Office of Emergency Management. We’re so glad we were able to provide preparedness resources and 10 year shelf life water to folks to add to their emergency kits. A more prepared Travis County is a safer Travis County! 🚨

🔥🚫 Burn ban is in effect!
The ban applies to all unincorporated areas of Travis County. Outdoor burning is strictly prohibited!

🚭 Do not discard cigarette butts outdoors
🌿 Do not burn brush, debris, or household waste
🚗 Secure tow chains to prevent sparks while driving
Be extremely careful and suspected fires immediately by calling 911.
