URGENT MESSAGE FROM JCP&L

JCP&L is sending out a reverse call to customers about conserving energy today due to the ongoing reliability work at the Franklin Substation. Below is text of the voicemail you will be receiving:

This is Jersey Central Power & Light, your electric company. Critical repairs are ongoing at a substation in your area. To help reduce the chance of additional power outages while we complete the work, you’re encouraged to conserve electricity through 8PM tonight, especially between 3 and 6 p.m. when demand is usually highest. You can find helpful tips at firstenergycorp dot com slash save energy.

If electricity use gets too high, we may need to temporarily turn off power in some areas to protect the system. We know this can be inconvenient and truly appreciate your support in helping to keep power flowing. To hear this message again, please stay on the line.

The American Flag at the Frankford Township Municipal Building is being flown at half-mast for Peace Officers Memorial Day (Friday, May 15, 2026) to honor all those law enforcement officers - federal, state and local - who have been killed or disabled in the line of duty.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation, which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week.

Please join us in honoring those officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

For more information, please visit the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial website. https://nleomf.org

Thank you!
