NewsChannel 9 Meteorologist Kate Thornton was back in Auburn as she came to Casey Park Elementary to speak to kindergarteners.
She explained how the weather works by doing fun experiments with some of the students even becoming "Mini Meteorologists" who did a weather broadcast.
Thank you to Ms. Thornton for coming to Auburn and giving our students some fun lessons.

As we head into the final month of the school year, it's even more important that students attend school daily to finish on a high note.
We appreciate our students' efforts to come to school every day, and our staff for all they do to create a welcoming learning environment.

All five elementary schools, Casey Park Elementary, Genesee Elementary School, Herman Avenue Elementary School, Owasco Elementary School and William H. Seward Elementary School came together for the annual track and field meet at the Al Wilson Track at Auburn High School.
It was a perfect day and the students had a lot of fun competing in the shotput, discus, long jump, hurdles, relays and dashes. It's good preperation for Carol's Games coming up next week.
Thank you to the district's physical education teachers who did a great job putting on a wonderful event.

Genesee Elementary School students gave a warm and energetic welcome to runners in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics.
Including members of the Auburn, N.Y. Police Department, Auburn NY Fire Departmentc, New York State Police, other law enforcement organizations and community members, including Genesee teacher Ms. Minnoe, the runners stopped at Genesee to say thank you and tell the students how important the Torch Run is for raising funds for Special Olympics.

The Auburn Junior High School Spring Choral concert was a wonderful performance featuring the seventh-grade girls, the seventh and eighth-grade boys, and the eighth-grade girls choirs.
Kerry Bereza was excellent as accompanist, and Nysahn Estes-Johnson did a great job on the Djembe.

Tonight is the final spring concert as the Auburn Junior High School Chorus will perform at 7 p.m.
We want to thank everyone who has attended a concert over the past month. Your support means a lot to our student-musicians.
We also want to thank our incredible music faculty for the great work they do in getting their students ready for these shows. It's a labor of love for them.
Finally, thank you to the Auburn NY Music Boosters for their support, from running the concession stands and all of the amazing things they do for music in the district.
