My name is Jimmy Poynter. I am a lifelong resident of Attica. I am currently on our city council and running as an incumbent. Our city is moving forward with new opportunities coming in the near future. Together we can accomplish these goals.
I am a 1985 Attica high school graduate. I’ve been employed as a facilities manager at Myers Steel Fabricating for 40 years. I am the president of the Attica United Fund. I also served on the ABSA board for about 15 years.
We have accomplished so much for the community and I am proud to be a part of it. We found a solution for the city and Paws n Claws with an agreement on contract, donation and transition with Attica Recreation for the swimming pool, implementation of the playground on the riverfront, as well as the resolution of Shepherd‘s landing.
I promote transparency, fiscal decision-making, passing of balanced budgets ensuring our financial future remains secure, support of our local schools and first responders, be a voice of our citizens and animals, reduce Attica’s poverty, and maintain positive relations with our residents. I’m committed to giving back to our communities through practical solutions and answers that work best for our city and citizens. I am the person who you can call, email or just see at the store to discuss issues that need to be addressed.
My campaign is about people, not politics. I ensure all residents have a voice and will make the decisions that are in the best interest of the city and its residents. I am here to listen, learn, and work hard for the city of Attica. I am proud of the progress we have made, but our work isn’t finished. I ask for your vote in the primary to continue our momentum.
