I’ve had a hard time making myself post a final time as an elected official. But here we are at the intersection and I must cross! I plan to keep this account active but low key. It’s been an amazing 8 years of service. I would happily sit with anyone who follows me and have coffee to share what it’s been about, what I’ve learned, and how we can all work together to make where we live a thriving, hospitable, and enjoyable place. Community is everything. People are the most valuable asset a city has. Leadership is earned and should not be taken for granted. There’s always more work to do. So onward and upward! I have more to give and will be out there with you taking care of our town.

The Charter Review Commission is re-examining how our mayor is selected, and they want your input. Should the mayor be elected directly by voters or chosen each year by the City Commission? Join the virtual community discussion to share your thoughts before any recommendations are made.

Shhh 🤫 … word on the street is there’s a new spot in town. We cut the ribbon to officially celebrate the opening of Roaring Social, a 1920s-inspired speakeasy + duckpin bowling lounge. Welcome to Decatur y’all!

The City’s charter functions like Decatur’s local constitution, and we need the community’s input.

The commission members will be selected by appointment based on experience and background, as well as by a civic lottery that will randomly select participants of various criteria.

Your voice can help decide how Decatur’s government works for years to come!

To learn more or apply for the civic lottery, visit decaturga.com/crc before the June 27 deadline.
