π£ 2026 Property Tax Assessment Notices
Newton County Board of Tax Assessors sent the 2026 Annual Notice of Assessment to property owners today, Friday, May 29, 2026. This notice informs property owners of their 2026 fair market value.
Due to new legislation, this year's notice will look a little different.
βοΈ On the new to notice, you'll see...
βοΈ2026 Exemptions, Credits and Preferential Assessments.
This includes any homestead exemptions, credits or other assessments you may have.
βοΈEstimate Tax Savings.
This reflects the estimated savings you have on the 2026 taxes, taking into account any exemptions, credits or preferential assessments using 2025 millage rates. Please note due to this being calculated with 2025 millage rates, this may not be the savings provided on this yearβs tax bill.
βοΈ You won't see...
βοΈ Estimated Roll Back Rate.
You will no longer find the estimated roll back rate for the County, School or possible municipal M&O.
βοΈ Estimated Tax.
In previous years a number was shown on your assessment notice reflecting what taxes would be with the previous yearβs millage rate. Often this number was inaccurate due to the millage rate changing. This estimated tax would often not match the number on the bill after a millage rate was adopted.
ποΈ Appeal Deadline: Monday, July 13, 2026
Property owners have 45 days from the mail date to file an appeal regarding their assessment.
βΆ Appeals may be filed:
