We celebrate the strength, resilience and fortitude of LGBTQ+ people in our community and across our nation.

Pride is more than celebration; it's honoring those who've fought for equality, recognizing the progress that's been made and recommitting ourselves to the work that remains.

It's also a time to remember those who've endured hate, discrimination and exclusion.

As ever more the progress that's been made is threatened, the more important it is that we stand united, dig in our heels and give no ground.

Everyone deserves the freedom to live authentically, love openly and be treated with dignity and respect.

We believe in the strength of diversity and the inalienable rights of each individual to be their true selves. Not just through June, but every day.

Commissioner  Whitney Kenner Jones  invites you to join her for an upcoming District 2 Town Hall on Wednesday, May 27, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Lionsgate/Great Point Studios, located at 2553 Fairburn Road in Douglasville. Commissioner Kenner Jones will be joined by County Administrator Dr. David Corbin for an open forum conversation designed to ensure residents’ voices are heard. This is an opportunity for community members to ask questions, raise concerns, share ideas, and engage directly in meaningful dialogue about the issues affecting Douglas County and District 2. Whether you have a question, a concern, or simply want to stay informed, all residents are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served.

DEMOCRATS LEAD PRIMARY VOTE TOTALS IN DISTRICT 4 🔵

Tuesday night was a major moment for Democrats in District 4. We want to congratulate both of our Democratic Board of Commissioners candidates for running strong campaigns focused on the future of our community.

Jim Anagnostakis ran a highly competitive race and helped elevate important issues that resonated with voters across the district. We thank him for his hard work, dedication, and commitment to Democratic values.

We also congratulate Gil McDougal on his primary victory and look forward to supporting him, alongside our full slate of Democratic nominees as we head toward November.
