Warm summer nights in the great outdoors. All the iconic summer vibes are right here at the Parks: s'mores around the campfire, stargazing, crickets/cicadas, fireflies, and raccoons searching for unguarded snacks.

Father's Day is coming up soon! Celebrate with your family in the great outdoors.

GA State Parks have group shelters for rent with large kitchens and tables to accommodate groups of almost any size. Picnic shelters are a great choice for smaller gatherings as well.

Spend some quality time with Dad on a ranger-led program, fishing excursion, golf trip, or just a good old-fashion hike. Explore our website (link in bio) to plan your weekend activities and get more info on events our rangers have planned.

The visitor centers at our parks have great gifts for dad too! Grab a souvenir to remember your special outing or pick up an Annual Pass or Gift Card so you can enjoy the great outdoors all year-round.

The junior ranger program is a great way to explore Georgia with the family this summer. Outdoor enthusiasts of all ages will have fun earning their unique badge from each state park and historic site they visit. Congratulations to our 6 newest junior rangers from Fort McAllister!

Had the honor of swearing in these 6 newest Junior Rangers yesterday. Don't know that I've ever had six from one family!
Made my day!

Lookin' ahead to summer weather! Many of our parks have sandy beaches for your family to cool off and have fun. Tugaloo has a pretty beach on Lake Hartwell, and Don Carter State Park has a spacious beach on Lake Lanier with a large picnic shelter and grills. If you're looking for something a little more low-key, check out the beaches at Fort Mountain, Hard Labor Creek, Kolomoki Mounds, Reed Bingham and Seminole. Most of these have picnic shelters for rent where you can enjoy a nice afternoon in the shade. Visit the Activities Page on GaStateParks.org for more summertime fun ideas.

Keep the kiddos busy and learning this summer with our Junior Ranger camps. Some are a week long, while some are just one day. They'll even go home with their own site-specific Junior Ranger badge! James H "Sloppy" Floyd's is coming up on June 10. Chattahoochee Bend's camp still has a few open spots on June 26 and 27. And you'll find dozens more on the events page of our website:
