Cobb County Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Lisa Cupid has embarked on a mission to give elected officials greater control over the operation of Cobb County government. Specifically, the proposal would give politicians the authority to appoint the directors of agencies and departments that provide services to Cobb County residents.
This effort has the potential to upend a system that has provided decades of stable, professional, and impartial leadership in Cobb County. Watch the video to learn more about this proposal and why I am deeply concerned about what it could mean for the future of our local government.

Retirement Adventures Continue! Can you make it across Chicago by train and still catch your flight?

While visiting family in Chicago, I decided to take on a challenge: travel solo from the western suburbs to O’Hare Airport using Chicago’s rail system on one of the busiest days of the year—St. Patrick’s Day!

With multiple train connections, crowds, and a flight to Atlanta waiting, it turned into a race against the clock.

Getting older often means facing medical questions that don’t have simple answers. For me, that journey has included a rising PSA, an enlarged prostate, biopsies, MRIs, and the possibility of prostate cancer.

I also made one mistake along the way that added unnecessary stress and anxiety—something I wish I’d handled differently.
