Last night, City of Dunwoody - Government Council took an important step forward by advancing a rooftop solar initiative for two of our city facilities. This is expected to generate immediate cost savings, reduce emissions, and strengthen our long-term energy resilience — all with no upfront cost to the City.

This is a great example of a practical, collaborative effort between City staff, our Sustainability Committee, and Council. It’s also just the beginning — I’m excited to continue exploring additional opportunities across Dunwoody, including other facilities and even concepts like covered parking.

Really proud to see this come to life.

This past Sunday, about 35 neighbors joined us for the Cherry Hill Path ribbon cutting and community bike ride — and it was a great reminder of what these projects are all about: people… and just having fun together.

The City’s video captures it well — from the ribbon cutting to residents of all ages riding together, along with a great explanation from our Public Works Director on how this project turned an overgrown right-of-way into a safe, functional neighborhood connection.

Thank you to the Dunwoody Police Department for riding alongside us, to Pizza piccola for providing a free slice to every participant, and to Councilmember Catherine Lautenbacher and Commissioner Robert Patrick-District 1 for joining us.

What stood out most was the energy — people laughing, talking, and enjoying the ride, the pizza, and the chance to connect with neighbors and officers in a relaxed setting.

These are the kinds of experiences that turn neighbors into community — and another meaningful step toward a more connected, safer, and more livable Dunwoody.

Join Dunwoody City Council member Joe Seconder this Sunday, March 29, for a special Community Bike Ride celebrating Dunwoody’s new neighborhood path connection linking Eidson Road and Cherry Hill Lane. Meet at Brook Run Park at 1:45 p.m. The group will ride through the Dunwoody North neighborhood, along Peeler Road to Winters Chapel, with stops at the new path connection and at Piccola Pizza for a complimentary slice. The route is approximately 2.27 miles one-way, making it accessible for riders of a wide range of ages and abilities. The ride will wrap up by 4 p.m.

The City of Dunwoody - Government City Council will hold our Strategic Planning Retreat on March 25, and I’ve shared some thoughts on the priorities I believe we should focus on as we plan for the year ahead.

Topics include connected infrastructure, financial planning, ex*****on of adopted plans, and maintaining transparency with residents.

The retreat is open to the public at 8:00 AM at the Le Meridien in Dunwoody.

Dunwoody kicks off its 2026 paving plan next week, investing SPLOST and State funds to keep our roads safe and reliable.

I am deeply troubled by the attack at Temple Israel synagogue in Michigan. My thoughts and prayers are with the Jewish community and all those affected by this act of hatred.

No one should have to fear for their safety when gathering in a place of worship. Antisemitism and violence have no place in America.

As local leaders, we have a duty to speak clearly against hate and to work every day to ensure our communities remain places where people of all faiths can live, worship, and gather in peace.
