Over the past 40 years, I have had a front-row seat to the tremendous changes in emergency medical services and the way our profession has evolved.

Many people still think EMS is simply about transportation, getting a patient from point A to point B. But what we do is far more than that. It is about readiness and access. Access to life saving healthcare when minutes matter, access to advanced medicine outside the walls of a hospital, and access to hope for families facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

After decades of progress and innovation, one thing is clear to me: Metro Atlanta Ambulance has been at the tip of the spear, introducing new innovations that have saved lives and helped change our profession for the better. I also know the work is not finished and that EMS will play a significant role in proving access to care.

The most important chapters for Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service, and for the future of emergency medical care in our state, are still ahead.

If MetroAtlanta Ambulance has impacted your life, give us a like and a follow.

“If we don’t give them blood products in the field and give them an extra 10, 15, or 20 minutes, they don’t make it.”
