The Coweta Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office has an immediate opening for a LEGAL ASSISTANT in our Newnan office located in the Coweta County Justice Center. This is a full-time Coweta County position with benefits. Information about Coweta County benefits can be found here.
The following duties are normal for this position, and other duties may be required and assigned.
A Legal Assistant provides clerical support and works directly with Assistant District Attorneys (ADAs), Investigators, and Victim Advocates; receives legal documents to include subpoenas, warrants, incident reports, motions, and discovery, and records/incorporates them along with related legal documents, and/or compiles them with related case file information; creates and maintains legal files; enters information into the department database; updates the database; annotates court calendars, and prepares extradition paperwork in accordance with training.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent. All candidates are subject to a background check. Applicants selected for hire will be subject to fingerprinting, a criminal history background check, a motor vehicle driver’s history check and pre-employment drug screening; employment is contingent upon the completion and satisfactory results of each investigation. Position Status: Full-Time with Coweta County benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience.
