Friends of Gospel Pilgrim Cemetery This organization strives to provide preservation and eventual restoration efforts to the Gospel Pilgrim Cemetery.

Furthermore, these efforts attempt to unite the Athens community in remembering and honoring a legacy of our shared history. Friends of Gospel Pilgrim is a volunteer-service organization dedicated to preserving Gospel Pilgrim Cemetery, a historic African American Cemetery in Athens, GA.

Due to the current pandemic, we have decided to cancel our March 28th and April 11th service days. During this time, we cannot in good conscience conduct group service days. We encourage interested volunteers to continue social distancing, but to go out to the cemetery on their own to w**d or pick up trash. Our executive board will certainly be doing what we can to continue cleaning the cemetery, while also keeping those around us healthy.
