Hey everyone! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Abby Burke Carroll, and I am running for re-election to the Athens City Schools Board of Education. I have proudly served our community since 2017, and I look forward to continuing to work for you.
I am an Athens girl through and through, having grown up here - attending City Park, Ingleside, North City, and Athens Junior High School before graduating from McMinn County High School in 2009. Now, I am an Assistant Public Defender for the 10th Judicial District which covers McMinn, Monroe, Bradley, and Polk counties.
A lifelong member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church, I'm an active adult leader with our Youth Group, the host of our middle school girl's Small Group, and a member of the Children and Youth Ministries Advisory Board. I am also blessed to serve on the Board of Directors for Camp Lookout - a ministry of the Holston Conference serving youth in our area. Most importantly, however, I am the proud mama of Sophie - who is a seventh grader at Athens City Middle School.
As a current Athens City Schools parent, an experienced Board Member, and an Athens City Schools Alumni myself, I am humbly asking each of you to continue to allow me to serve you and our community, as I have been so blessed to do for the past five years. I would appreciate your vote on November 8, 2022.
