The suspect in the March 22nd trash dumping incidents in Plymouth and Sheffield Townships appeared in Ashtabula City Municipal Court today for a pre-trial hearing.

Zachary Bradley, of McCreery Avenue in Ashtabula, was sentenced to six months in jail (suspended, in lieu of thirty hours of community service in Plymouth Township) and $700 in restitution.

Bradley was accused of two separate incidents involving the dumping of trash, including medical waste, on Sunday March 22nd, 2026. Bradley still faces charges in Conneaut Municipal Court for the dumping that took place in Sheffield Township.

Bradley accepted full responsibility for the incidents that took place, and apologized to Plymouth Township officials after sentencing.

Plymouth Township would like to thank Ashtabula County Sheriffs Deputy John Helfer, Ashtabula City Solicitor Cecilia Cooper, and Judge Michael Cicconetti.

Plymouth Township Trustees and staff are committed to keeping our community clean and safe for all our residents. Littering, dumping, and vandalism of any kind will continue to be prosecuted to the full extent possible.

BIG Boy 4014 rolled through Plymouth today on its way to an overnight stay in Conneaut.

Around 3 pm, Plymouth residents gathered at local crossings to see the 1.2 million pound goliath rumble though.

If you missed today's action, it's not too late to get a glimpse of the world's largest steam locomotive in action. BIG Boy will leave Conneaut tomorrow at 9 am and pass through Ashtabula on its way to Rocky River.

There are several great viewing locations including downtown Ashtabula, near Main or Park Avenue. Because of the trestle crossing the Ashtabula River, BIG Boy slows to a crawl which creates a perfect recording opportunity.

More good news...

Plymouth Township Fire Department is happy to announce that we were awarded a “Training & Equipment Grant” from the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of EMS in the amount of $3,500.26.

This awarded money will be used to update and replace aging EMS equipment to improve the services provided to our community!

As part of the ongoing celebration of our country's 250th birthday, Plymouth officials, led by Bruce Turner, have adorned the township with 73 American flags. 🇺🇲

This was a collaborative effort between the trustees, fire and road departments, residents, and surrounding communities. 🤝

We want to give a special thanks to Kingsville Township who lent Plymouth their bucket truck to assist. 👑 🛻

We also want to mention how many residents have joined the patriotic push. The township is blanketed with flags, banners, and bunting and has never looked better! 🏘️

We're looking forward to a safe, fun, and festive once-in-a-lifetime holiday weekend. 🎆

Today the Plymouth Township Trustees and officials, along with members of the fire department, and design and construction team, officially broke ground on the fire hall renovation and expansion.

Originally constructed in 1968, the existing structure will be renovated to include necessary safety and ADA compliance upgrades.

A 30' x 60' addition will add room for dedicated office space, sleeping quarters, and a gear turnout room.

These features will provide the Plymouth Township Fire Department with the modern tools necessary to protect the residents of Plymouth, and the surrounding communities.

This project wouldn't have been possible without the effort of Fire Chief Bill Strubbe, and the support of all of our residents.

The newly expanded hall will be completed in time to host voters on Election Day in November.

Plymouth Township officials would like to inform residents of a recent hostile incident involving a contractor placing signs illegally on telephone poles in the township.

On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, a Plymouth couple, and their grandchildren, witnessed a representative from S&K Roofing using a ladder to illegally affix advertising signs to a telephone pole near Runkle Avenue Extension.

Previously, the S&K signs has been hung in multiple locations at approximately 6 feet, and were promptly removed by township officials upon discovery. This new method of attaching the signs at elevated heights is a brazen attempt to prevent removal, and to circumvent local ordinances, utility regulations, and the Ohio Revised Code.

The resident confronted the S&K representative, at which time he became extremely argumentative and verbally abusive. The exchange escalated quickly, and in the interest of safety, the grandchildren were removed and sent inside the home.

The representative was insistent he had the right to use the poles for advertising, but eventually relented and sped away aggressively. The incident was then reported to the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Department.

S&K Roofing is well known to township officials. Their signs have been posted illegally across the area, not just in Plymouth, but in surrounding communities as well. The Plymouth Township Zoning Inspector had previously made attempts to resolve the issue amicably, but S&K Roofing officials have been unresponsive.

Plymouth Township officials are entrusted with preserving the beauty, laws, and safety of our community. Disregard for our ordinances and abuse of our residents will not be tolerated. The trustees are actively working with the Ashtabula County Prosecutor's Office to stop this unlawful activity and ensure it doesn't happen in the future.

Please use discretion if you witness representatives from S&K Roofing illegally placing signs in the township.

Plymouth residents are encouraged to report all sign violations to the township representatives. The signs will be removed immediately. Reports can be sent privately to our page, or you can call or text the zoning inspector, Ryan Lencl, at 440-536-1944.

While the storm events that took place on Sunday, June 14th are in the rearview for most residents, our road department is still busy at work cleaning up debris, trimming damaged trees, and making repairs to storm damaged infrastructure.

In addition, damage to telephone poles and secondary architecture like telecom lines is still being repaired throughout the township.

Please keep an eye out for workers and equipment on the roadside. If you see damage that should be reported, you can reach Road Superintendent Todd Graf at 440-997-3821.

The Plymouth Township Trustees will hold a special meeting at 1:30 p.m. June 30, 2026 in the Community Room, 1001 Plymouth Rd., Ashtabula. The purpose of the meeting is to consider township policy regarding cyber security.

This will be immediately followed by a groundbreaking ceremony at 2 p.m. for the firehall renovation/addition.
