My name is Mirtha Cervantez Hernandez, and I humbly ask for your support and vote to become your next Justice of the Peace for Precincts 4, 5, and 7.
I am a lifelong resident of Dimmit County and proudly call Asherton home. I am the daughter of Richard and Betty Hernandez and the sister of Joel, Richard, and Juan (Gabby). Family has always been the foundation of my life.
I raised my children — Theresa, Jasmine, Pablo, and Reyna — with the same values my parents instilled in me: hard work, dedication, integrity, and the importance of education as the path to a secure future. I am also blessed with three wonderful bonus children — Nathan, Clarissa, and Greg — and my children and grandchildren inspire me every day to give my very best in everything I do.
For many years, I worked at our local nonprofit, Community Services Agency of South Texas, Inc., where I had the privilege of serving the residents of Dimmit County and helping connect families with vital community resources. Through this work, I gained firsthand knowledge of the needs of our people and the challenges many families face.
I also had the opportunity to work for the Justice of the Peace offices in Precinct 1 and Precinct 2. It was during this time that I realized this is where I truly belong — serving my neighbors, ensuring fairness, and helping our community navigate important legal matters with respect and compassion.
With my knowledge, experience, and deep love for Dimmit County, I am ready to serve.
This position will be my priority. I understand the needs of our community because I have lived them alongside you. I WILL be present, accessible, and available at my designated office to serve you with professionalism and fairness. You will not have to wonder where your Justice of the Peace is — I will be there.
I will uphold this office with integrity, dedication, and respect for every individual who walks through the door.
Committed. Fair. Prepared to Serve.
Let’s vote Mirtha C. Hernandez —
Here for the people, today and always.
