On March 25, Philippine Army soldiers collaborated with U.S. Army medics during a Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) focused on medical evacuation, conducted as part of Exercise Salaknib 2025.
U.S. Soldiers from Charlie Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment “Lightning Dustoff,” led a comprehensive MED 101 session, delivering critical hands-on training in MEDEVAC operations. The instruction covered key aspects such as patient transport, equipment handling, and procedures essential for joint missions in challenging environments.
The exchange began with a practical ground demonstration of vital medical tools. Participants were introduced to a compact roll-out stretcher designed for casualty stabilization, along with components of an aerial hoist system—including hoist lines and the jungle penetrator. U.S. instructors highlighted proper techniques for securing and balancing patients during aerial extraction, placing strong emphasis on safety protocols.
This collaborative training not only enhanced interoperability but also reinforced familiarity with life-saving equipment for both Philippine and U.S. Soldiers, offering valuable experience for instructors and participants alike.
