What in the world is the Army West Point Athletic Association (AWPAA)?

You can find out more information here but we wanted to give them the opportunity to explain it to our society and more importantly allow you to ask questions.

We are fortunate to have Bryant "Corky" Messner and our AD Tom "Theo" Theodorakis provide a presentation on the AWPAA.

Please join us on Thursday, 17 September 2026, at 6 pm ET. Join the Zoom meeting at the sign in information below:

**Ticket Sales End Next Week! **

I’m proud to support the Emily J.T. Perez Foundation as we commemorate 20 years since 2LT Emily J.T. Perez (USMA 2005) was killed in action.

On September 12, join us for the 2026 Legacy Dinner: Courage to Lead at the National Museum of the U.S. Army. This black-tie evening will honor Emily’s sacrifice, celebrate the people carrying her mission forward, and help fuel the work still ahead.

Join me in advancing Emily’s legacy. Attend the Legacy Dinner, become a Courage to Lead sponsor, or share this invitation with someone who should be in the room.

Congratulations and Welcome to Lieutenant General Retired Omar Jones IV ’92 for his election as the President of the West Point Society of Washington DC.

He last served as the commanding general of the United States Army Installation Management Command from 2022 to 2025. Prior to that role, he commanded the United States Army Military District of Washington and Joint Task Force – National Capital Region from 2019 to 2021. Commissioned in the infantry after graduation, he commanded infantry and cavalry units, and held senior public affairs roles. His 33-year career included deployments to Panama, Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

As a cadet, he served as First Captain for his class, graduating in 1992 with a B.S. degree in operations research. LTG (R) Jones later earned a Master of Public Administration degree from Harvard University and a master's degree in national security strategy from the National War College

A native of Baltimore Maryland, he married his high school classmate Tracey Jones at West Point one day after his graduation in 1992. They have three sons, two of whom have also graduated from West Point and are currently serving in our Army today as Captains.

LTG (R) Dave Halverson and LTG Omar Jones will begin their transition of the Society leadership during the next few months. Afterwards, we look forward to many Founders Day, luncheons, celebrations, and other events in the future with LTG (R) Jones leading our Society.
