Angeles Firefighters quickly knocked down a fire near the Deer Flats Campground in the Crystal Lake area of San Gabriel Canyon.

Forest Service Law Enforcement reported the small 30’x30’ fire around 1:21pm Monday and is handling the investigation.

No evacuations or road closures occurred as a result of the fire.

Each day, we work together helping keep everyone safe or responding to medical emergencies. Yesterday, our station Captain, Ryan A. Vienna, personally thanked our US Forest Service Law Enforcement partners for their continued partnership after completing a hike with his dog Kilo at Switzer Falls.

The 30 acre B***o fire was declared 100% contained at 7:30pm Friday evening, with no heat detected, nor smoke visible.

With all fires on the Angeles National Forest, firefighters will patrol the fire for several days, looking for any indications of new fire activity within the fire perimeter.

Los Angeles County Public Works has closed Glendora Mountain Road and Glendora Ridge Road through the Memorial Holiday Weekend to all motorized vehicles.

The annual holiday closure is for public safety and to reduce the risk of a wildfire.

Glendora Mountain Road is closed from East Fork Road in San Gabriel Canyon to Big Dalton in Glendora.

Glendora Ridge Road is closed from Mt. Baldy Road to Glendora Mountain Road.

Public works plans to re-open both roads at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday.

On May 18, 2026 at 12:26p.m., the Angeles National Forest responded to a wildland fire at the B***o Canyon Shooting Park.

The fire quickly burned to the top of the ridgeline, and firefighters were able to stop the forward fire progression at 30 acres.

Working in extremely steep and rocky terrain, firefighters have reached 95% containment. Crews will continue to construct and improve fire containment lines as well as extinguishing smoldering vegetation within the fire perimeter.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The B***o Canyon Shooting Park remains temporarily closed due to fire suppression efforts.
