My 'birthday party' yesterday was an educational tour of the headwaters of the Pahokee or Everglades.
Thanks to Biophilia Institute for arranging the program and tour.
I was grateful to be invited to perform my life's mission on educating people Florida's environmental and agricultural history.

Thank you, Associate Supervisor Vicente Pérez for the invitation to share the blessings of Florida and the hope to remediate the damage we have done.

This is a teaching and preaching point the agricultural educator in me.
See the big difference in water naturally filter by earth instead of washing down drains.

🌧️ Rain isn’t always the problem. Sometimes it’s what we’ve built underneath it.

When streets are covered almost entirely in concrete and asphalt, water has fewer places to soak naturally into the ground. Adding trees, rain gardens and other planted areas can help capture rainfall while making our neighborhoods greener at the same time.

Sometimes better cities simply mean making a little more room for nature. 🌿
