🚨CALL TO ACTION:🚨We need your help! HB1319- Public Safety - Militia - Active Duty Combat (Defend the Guard) is going to be heard in the Judiciary Committee THIS THURSDAY, MARCH 5TH AT 1PM. For the next few days, we need everyone on deck to call and email members of the committee asking them to support the bill. Lets make sure we send the message loud and clear! No more sending our National Guard to foreign wars without Congress making an official Declaration!

The National Guard has been activated to help with Emergency Management in local areas. This is a much better use of the skills and resources the Guard can provide than overseas in undeclared wars of choice. Let's make sure we always have this option. Support Defend The Guard here in Maryland during this year's General Assembly!

The West Virginia State Senate has begun the debate on Defend the Guard.

West Virginia lawmakers introduced a bill Wednesday that would dramatically restrict when the president can deploy the state’s National Guard members into active combat — a proposal coming as the state mourns two Guard members shot while on duty in Washington, D.C.
