ACT is a non-profit entity composed entirely of volunteers who are united in their efforts to preserve the wonderful cultural heritage of Anne Arundel County. A stand-alone 501(c)3 non-profit, first created in 1973 (http://annearundeltrust.org), its purpose is "to preserve and maintain historical, aesthetic and cultural properties, buildings, fixtures, furnishings and appurtenances pertaining in a
ny way to the History and Prehistory of Maryland from our earliest times." ACT is run by a volunteer board of professionals in the fields of preservation, archaeology, history, archival studies, etc. and includes passionate historic property owners who have contributed blood, sweat, and tears to preserving cultural treasures of Anne Arundel County. ACT fosters awareness of and supports historic preservation, archaeological investigation, cultural heritage research, historic property and archaeological site designations, cultural heritage policy awareness, and actively participates in public education throughout the County through historical and archaeological research and volunteer opportunities.
