While at the Sheets Family Park Grand Opening, attendees had the chance to register for a chance to win 1 of 4 NOAA Weather Radios. We will be drawing early next week and contacting the winners.

If you would like a chance at a radio for you or a loved one, come see us next Saturday at the YMCA of Steuben County at the Steuben County Safety Event from 10 to 2. We will be giving away another 4 radios.

We are excited to announce a great community outreach program coming to Steuben County!

On August 22nd from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, we are partnering with the Metz Volunteer Fire Department and Steuben County EMS to host Save a Life Day.

This event will feature a Prehospital Hemorrhage Control Course along with Hands-Only CPR and AED training.

Our goal is to empower our community to be better prepared, take action in emergencies, and help save lives when every second counts.

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Steuben County in northeastern Indiana...
Eastern Lagrange County in northeastern Indiana...
Branch County in southwestern Michigan...

* Until 330 PM EDT.

* At 248 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Union City to 7 miles south of Bronson to near
Rome City, moving northeast at 50 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Coldwater, Angola, Bronson, Fremont, Quincy, Union City, Hamilton,
Ray, Girard, Kinderhook, Batavia, California, Ashley, Gilead,
Hudson, Orland, Clear Lake, Sherwood, York, and Flint.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 69 in Indiana between mile markers 341 and 357.
Interstate 69 in Michigan between mile markers 1 and 21.
Interstate 80 in Indiana between mile markers 128 and 156.
