As we continue to wait for final results from this week's special election, we want to say a sincere THANK YOU to everyone who showed your support for Anacortes kids.

We are so grateful to those who sign-waved, displayed yard signs, shared our social media posts, talked to friends and family, and voted YES!

Our volunteer team will be picking up yard signs throughout the weekend.

If we somehow miss you and you still have a yard sign waiting to be picked up after Sunday, the 15th, please email our team [email protected] with your address and we will pick it up ASAP!

According to USPS, it is now ᴛᴏᴏ ΚŸα΄€α΄›α΄‡ to guarantee your ballot will be postmarked in time to count if you vote by mail.

According to USPS, it is now ᴛᴏᴏ ΚŸα΄€α΄›α΄‡ to guarantee your ballot will be postmarked by Election Day if you vote by mail.

The best option to ensure your ballot is counted is to drop it in an official drop box!

We shared written thoughts from second-generation ASD teacher Pat Swapp a few days ago, but wanted to share a brief interview with him and his wife, fellow teacher Kelsey, as well. Their passion for their professions - and for teaching and supporting Anacortes kids - shines through in every word.

A few days ago, we featured a heartfelt letter from Pat and Kelsey Swapp, two career educators and coaches who wanted to share their reasons for supporting the upcoming levies.

We mentioned that Pat is the son of two career educators. His dynamic mom, Maggie Thompson, is a retired administrator who remains involved in Anacortes schools several times a week. We're thankful that she took some time to share her own thoughts on the upcoming levies with us.

Advanced Placement classes - college-level coursework for students still in high school - are one of the many educational opportunities supported, at least in part, by local levies such as the ones on the ballot next week.

Supporting levies helps ensure these educational opportunities remain available for ASD students for years to come.

Recently, we shared a letter of support written by Elliott and Molly Johnson on behalf of Anacortes kids.

However, they were generous enough to also be interviewed by our student videographer, to add more about why they're so enthusiastic in their support of the academic and extracurricular opportunities afforded by these levies.
