On Tuesday, September 8, 2026, Tangipahoa Parish School System is recognizing National 988 Day to raise awareness for mental health and su***de prevention.

We invite all students and staff to wear teal and purple paired with school-approved jeans as a powerful symbol of hope, unity, and support. Let's show our community that no one has to walk through tough times alone.

Remember: Help is always within reach. If you or someone you know is going through a difficult time, you can call or text 988 anytime, 24/7, for free and confidential support.

Laying the foundation for the next generation at Independence Leadership Academy

Today marks an extraordinary milestone for ILA as we officially broke ground on our new early elementary expansion.

Tailored specifically to meet the developmental and educational needs of our youngest learners, this new classroom addition will give our students the perfect space to learn and grow. We extend our sincere gratitude to the school board, architects, builders, and community stakeholders who made this project possible.
