On Juneteenth, I’m reminded that freedom and democracy are deeply connected.

The right to vote is one of the most powerful ways we honor those who fought, sacrificed, and endured so that future generations could have a voice.

I voted, and I encourage everyone to make a plan to vote on Primary Day, next Tuesday, June 23. Our voices matter, our communities matter, and every vote counts.

Happy Juneteenth. Freedom, participation, and representation matter.

Thank you to WGRZ for covering the Town of Amherst Juneteenth flag raising.

Visibility matters. Recognition matters. Juneteenth is not only Black history, it is American history, and I appreciate the opportunity to help share its meaning with our broader community.

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and helped make this recognition possible.

A special moment from yesterday's Juneteenth flag raising in the Town of Amherst.

I was honored to raise the Juneteenth flag alongside Assemblywoman Karen McMahon as we recognized the importance of this historic day.

Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, but it is also a reminder of the strength, perseverance, and dignity of those who came before us. I’m grateful that our Town recognized this important part of American history.
