LET’S TALK ABOUT LEADERSHIP...

If I have the honor of becoming your next Chief of Police, I will not sit behind a desk and give orders. I will lead from the front.

The first thing I plan to do, is put on the uniform, work alongside our patrol officers, and spend time on every shift. I want to know the challenges our officers are facing, hear their ideas, and understand more clearly what they need to do their jobs effectively.

But leadership isn’t only about supporting the men and women wearing the badge...
It’s also about YOU.

I believe the people of Altus deserve a Police Department that is:
1.) Transparent ~ You should know how your department is performing.
2.) Accessible ~ My door will be open to our citizens and our officers when needed.
3.) Accountable ~ We will measure ourselves by results, not excuses.
4.) Proactive ~ We need to address problems before they become bigger problems. Become more proactive versus reactive.
5.) Community-focused ~ A strong relationship between police and citizens makes our community safer.
6.) Forward-thinking ~ Training, technology and modern policing are constantly changing, and we need to change with them.

One of the things I want to establish is a monthly Chief’s Report, giving our community a transparent look at the work being done by our Police Department. This means calls for service, arrests, community involvement and other measurable accomplishments... You deserve to know what your Police Department is doing for you.

I’m not running for Chief of Police because I think I have all the answers. I’m running because I’m willing to listen, work, lead and be accountable. This is something I am willing to take head on to better serve our amazing community!

After 21 years in law enforcement and a lifetime of calling Altus home, our community means the world to me.
This isn't about one person... It’s about building a stronger Police Department and an even stronger Altus.. a safer tomorrow!

Thank you Kelly Teinert for the video! My family has enjoyed the Great Plains Stampede Rodeo every year since I was a little girl. I am proud to be a sponsor of this fun event this year & I am grateful for all of the support I have received! Tonight is the last night to attend ("Tough enough to Wear Pink" night). This week I had the opportunity to attend the 38th Annual Crimes Against Children Conference in Dallas, Texas. This is my fourth time attending this amazing conference, and I always learn new things.

One of my highest priorities is making our community a safer place for our children. Conferences like this provide invaluable training on the latest investigative techniques, technology, and best practices to help law enforcement better protect children and hold offenders accountable.

I believe our officers should have access to the best training available because the safety of our families depends on it. As Chief, I will continue to support advanced training to ensure the Altus Police Department is properly equipped to meet today's challenges and protect our community's most vulnerable.

Thank you to the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center for hosting another outstanding conference and to all of the professionals dedicated to protecting children.

Today, we all celebrate the freedoms we enjoy & honor those who have sacrificed to protect them. I am so proud to call Altus my home and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve it.

As you celebrate with family and friends, please stay safe, make responsible decisions, and look out for one another.

Leadership is not about sitting behind a desk... it's about being present, leading by example, and understanding the challenges your team faces every day.

If I am elected as your next Chief of Police, one of my first priorities will be to put on my uniform and work alongside our patrol officers. I plan to work all shifts until I have ridden with every officer and spoken with them. In doing so, I believe I will be able to identify challenges they are currently facing, and learn where improvements can be made. I am a firm believer that the very best leaders do not manage from a distance, yet they lead from the front lines! By working alongside our officers, I will be better equipped to identify operational issues, improve communication, and develop solutions that strengthen our department and enhance public safety.

Just as important, I will be an approachable and accessible Chief... not just for our Officers, but for every citizen in our community. I believe by having an open door policy, honest communication, and mutual respect are key to building trust not only within our department, but also with the public we serve.

Leadership begins with listening, understanding, and taking action! That is the kind of leadership I will bring to the Altus Police Department.

Today is an important opportunity to make your voice heard through early voting, taking place on the east side of the Altus Community Center. Early voting is today & tomorrow from 8am-6pm, and Saturday from 8am-2pm.

If you are unable to vote early, Election Day will be held on Tuesday, June 16, at your designated polling location.

Voting is one of the most important responsibilities & privileges we have as citizens. Elections play a vital role in our democracy, giving every voter the opportunity to help shape the future of our community and state.

This election is especially significant, with several important positions to be filled and a state question regarding the minimum wage appearing on the ballot. Regardless of your views, your participation matters.

Take the time to exercise your right to vote, make your voice heard, and be a part of the democratic process. Every vote counts. 🇺🇲🗳

Serving the community of Altus has never been about a title for me, it has ALWAYS been about the people & wanting to make a difference. Since my childhood, I have always had a deep respect for law enforcement, justice, and our community.

My decision to seek the position of Chief of Police comes from a genuine place... a deep love for my community and a sincere desire to help make Altus safer, stronger & better for every family who calls it home. Altus is where my children and grandchildren live, grow, and build memories. Like many of you, I want a city where families can feel safe, neighborhoods can thrive, and where people know they are heard!

If given the opportunity to serve as your next Chief of Police, my commitment is simple... to lead with integrity, professionalism, and transparency!

I believe trust is built through honesty and accessibility. That means maintaining an open door policy, being approachable, available, and present for our community. I want citizens to know their concerns matter and that their police department is accountable to the people it serves.

Transparency will remain one of my highest priorities! I believe the public deserves open communication, clear information, and leadership that is visible and engaged. Our community should know what their police department is doing, the challenges we face, and the progress we are making together. I intend to be informative using a monthly "Chief’s Report", and also "Critical Incident Reports".

I also believe in moving forward with the times. Public safety continues to evolve, and our department must evolve with it through modern technology, stronger communication, and increased training for every member of our department. Well trained officers that are equipped with the right tools and resources, are essential to providing professional, effective, and compassionate service.

Most importantly, I will NEVER stop fighting for this community. Altus is my home. I care deeply about its future, and I want to see it flourish... for our children, our grandchildren, and generations to come.

My campaign is rooted in service, heart, and a sincere desire to do what is right for our community. I am committed to listening, leading with integrity, and working every single day to help build a safer, stronger Altus for all.
