Lauren Wilson, Alton, IL City Clerk

Lauren Wilson, Alton, IL City Clerk I’m Lauren Wilson, honored to serve as the City Clerk of Alton, Illinois, sworn in on May 14, 2025. I have come to learn all facets of the City Clerk position.

A lifelong Alton resident, I’m committed to transparency, accesibility, and building a stronger community through dedicated public service. My name is Lauren Wilson and I am excited to be running for Alton City Clerk in the upcoming April 1, 2025 Election! For the past four years I have served as the Deputy Clerk for the City of Alton. In addition to my position as Deputy Clerk, I have assumed the

role of City Clerk for a significant period during this term. I have developed effective relationships with City officials, leaders, employees and citizens alike. I know what it takes to successfully run the Clerk’s office and to provide exceptional and memorable customer service. I am a fifth generation Altonian who believes the best days of Alton are ahead! I grew up in the Christian Hill neighborhood, attending St. Peter & Paul grade school, Marquette Catholic High School, Lewis and Clark Community College and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services at Missouri Baptist University. Ten years ago, my husband and I bought a house on Christian Hill and are raising our children in the same neighborhood I grew up in. We are active members of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church; our children attend St. Mary’s grade school, and my husband has worked for a local Community Bank for seven years. We are invested in Alton! When elected, you can count on me to effectively organize, plan and run the bi-weekly Committee and Council meetings. These meetings are the core of local government and give Alton citizens the opportunity to appeal to their local legislators. Over the past four years, I have cemented my knowledge of city ordinances, filing sensitive data, preparing and drafting official reports, publishing correspondences and local regulations and adhering to a culture of compliance and competence. These are the necessary skills and qualities a City Clerk must possess to be an asset to our local government officials and the citizens of Alton. Once elected, the citizens and local government officials of Alton can rely on a City Clerk who does their job with dignity, integrity and transparency. I hope to earn your vote this April 1st. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions at [email protected] and sign up for our email list to stay informed of important upcoming campaign information. Thank you for your time and your support!
