A heartfelt thank you to Lakeville Elementary School for inviting me to participate in your Tech-In. It was truly an honor, as a City Commissioner, to speak with your students about the role of local government and the many ways our decisions impact their daily lives here in Apopka.

One of the highlights of my visit was watching the students collaborate in groups to create a rule or ordinance they’d like to see implemented either at their school or within the City of Apopka. Their creativity, leadership, and civic awareness were inspiring.

Keep up the great leadership, Principal Charles Jackson and Assistant Principal Shakeela Prosper, it truly shows in your students.

I look forward to returning next year and continuing to invest in the next generation of Apopka leaders.

Today, I had the honor of joining the incredible team at Fire Station 4 to provide meals and show my deep appreciation for the brave men and women who serve and protect our community. As a commissioner and proud supporter of our first responders, it was important for me to be present to say thank you and stand with those who give so much of themselves every day.

It was a true privilege to be part of the 2nd Annual 15 Days of Hope, a powerful initiative honoring the life and legacy of Firefighter Austin Duran. This month marks three years since his Line of Duty death, and through this initiative, we reflect on the impact he made and continue to carry his memory forward with love, strength, and unity.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Duran family, the Apopka Fire Department, and the Austin Duran Memorial Foundation for leading this meaningful movement that uplifts the fire service and strengthens our community.

A special thank you to Yumma Barbecue for partnering with us and providing the delicious meals; we appreciate your support!

Let us continue to honor Austin’s legacy and the service of all those who protect us today and every day. 💛🔥🚒

We congratulate our newest Apopka Police Officers Ciesielski, Jimenez, Manzanares, Morales, Pulice, and Ramirez-Lopez and wish them success and safety throughout their new law enforcement career. As a tradition, all new officers select family members to pin their police badges to their uniforms.

🎓 Congratulations to the Class of 2025! 🎓

Over the past two days, I had the pleasure of attending graduation ceremonies for both Apopka High School and Wekiva High School. It was an honor to witness such a proud and meaningful milestone in the lives of these young adults.

Moments like these are truly rewarding—as a commissioner and community member, I can’t wait to watch these graduates blossom and make their mark on the world.

Well done, Class of 2025! The future is bright, and it’s yours to shape. 🌟

It was an honor to witness a historic moment right here in the beautiful City of Apopka as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed HB 999 — the Gold and Silver Legal Tender Bill — into law. This legislation allows for the use of gold and silver coins to pay for financial obligations in the state.

A special congratulations to our own State Representative Doug Bankson for sponsoring the bill and earning strong bipartisan support in both the House and Senate.

I was also pleased to meet Kevin Freeman, host of Economic War Room on BlazeTV and author of Pirate Money, who has been a driving force behind this movement. His tireless advocacy across the country has been instrumental in encouraging states to adopt sound money principles.

This is a proud day for Apopka and for Florida!

“Let’s come together and be heard—your voice shapes our neighborhood! You have the power to influence how our tax dollars are spent right here at home. I’ll also be sharing exciting info on free home renovation funding available within the CRA area. Don’t miss out—and be sure to tell your neighbors!”
