Alpine Fire District hosted an ice rescue training session with our Mutual aid partner Swan Valley Fire. It was a beautiful day, and members, new and experienced got to get in the water at Big Elk and brush-up on their skills. Scenario of victim access by ice or open water. Suits and watercraft were used. Ice was solid but as warmer weather approaches ice conditions will deteriorate, and special precautions will need to be used. Please be safe.

Hey folks! In the last 2 days we have had 4 incidents on the roadways. Fortunately no major injuires. Winter is back! PLEASE drive carefully since roads are extremely slick. Be safe out there and take time to get to you destination.

Alpine Fire District would like to send out some friendly reminders for the upcoming winter season:
-Have your chimney inspected and cleaned if necessary
-Keep space heaters away from combustible materials
-Keep your neighborhood fire hydrants clear of snow
-Keep your gas or propane regulators and shut offs clear of snow and ice. Make sure any snow or ice falling off your roof does not damage your gas lines
-Be aware of snow and Ice on your roof sliding and burying or injuring adults or children

During the holidays:
-Use undamaged quality lighting
-Don't allow pets to chew on Christmas tree lights
-Keep candles away from combustible materials and curtains

We want our community to stay safe and as much as we like you, we don't want to see you 😉
